Game Review - Borderlands

Borderlands is a first person shooter with a western fling and was released in Ocober 2009. It is completely enthralling and entertaining game that will cause you to waste countless hours of your life trying to max out all four character classes. Guns are the bread and butter of this game with a randomizer that allows guns to spawn with random attributes and elements attached to them. It was created by gearbox and published by 2k games and has been one of the most popular shooters since release partially because of its focus on fun and one of a kind graphic schemes.

There is the hunter Mordecai, a sniper and revolver specialist that relies on his trusty pet bloodwing to swoop in and attack from on high. Best known for the leather mask and bowie knife that he carries, Mordecai likes to attack from far away and have people dead before even reaching him.

Lilith the Siren is the only female playable character and has plenty of attitude to make up for it. She specializes in getting close and personal with her phasewalk ability allowing her to shift plains and cause damage upon leaving and entering plains. She is also an elemental specialist and can move quickly while in phasewalk allowing easy sneaking in or running away.

Brick is just as his name sounds. Something you beat the shit out of someone with, preferably right upside the head. His berserker mode allows him to attack with bare fists while using the right and left triggers, Xbox360. He also specializes in things that go boom oh yea this big boy is and explosives expert also.

Finally comes Roland, the gunslinging down and dirty soldier that every games has to have. Specializing in combat rifles and shotguns he can dish out pain near and far away. He also has an automated turret that can be deployed and used as a portable shield while it dishes out damages to those in front of it.

Overall Borderlands focuses on having a good time and shooting at anything that moves, which is why it works so well and has been so popular.

Score 5/5 A perfect score
